Good evening,
Can anyone tell me where I can find the black steel molding for the top of my 32 Fordor? I don't have that part & need it for the upholsters to get the top done.

I remembered posting in that thread so I clicked on my name and then on statistics - show all posts and went through them till I found the thread.

Hay Bill,
The phone number is disconnected & I can't find the guy on line. Do you know anyplace else where I can find the trim for the roof?

Reproduction extruded aluminum trim is available from the usual sources but it comes in straight lengths. The challenge will be finding someone to do a good job bending it.

Reproduction aluminum tack strip for your Fordor is available from Jerry Eckholdt, O'Fallon, MO, 636-240-8712.

Figured this would be better than a new thread. My top looks good but the black strip looks aged. It leaks in one spot. Can this just be pushed back down? Do I need a new strip? If so can I replace only the strip? Also what do you clean/treat the top with to keep it from fading?

You do not need a new strip.
From your photos, it looks like the tack strip is slightly bent upwards where two of the sections butt together. A simple solution: add some sealer to fill the gap between strip and body. More complicated solution: dig out the sealer that appears to be filling the groove in the tack strip, flatten the metal strip down, retack and reseal the groove. Originally there was a rubber strip inserted in the groove to seal it, but from the photo, yours seems to filled with a sealer of some sort.
