32 Ford truck door adjustment

There is no adjustment at all in the hinges is there? I can't see how there could be any. The top corner of my door hits the cab yet the bottom has a least a half inch gap. Do I just try to adjust the door into the position I want by flexing with some blocks of wood or something?

Ok I'll look at that too. Come to think of it the hood doesn't really fit that well either. I might be opening up a huge can of worms here. Oh well. Everyone hates a coward.

Forget that shimming business for now By the top corner do you mean the REAR top corner . take the dove tail of the door, hold the door handle twisted so the lock does not engage the stricker and slowly close the door and hold it closed .Now read the gaps .If the door is high in the rear top corner .,what is the gap like of the door to the cowl is it even top to bottom ? Likely the gap is way wide at the front bottom part of the door or very tight at the top front part of the door ,to the cowl maybe a little of both. what is the answer?

Guess I should clarify my situation. When my door is closed (door latch is removed right now) so the door is just sitting in a relaxed position, the top rear of the door hits the cab. The bottom rear of the door is further out from the cab by at least a half inch. I think the door is square in the hole of the cab. Its just that the bottom is kicked out too far sideways. I'll post some pics tomorrow once I'm on days off.

Hello Start at the front. If the door is sitting square in the hole IE front edge of door has a good gap to the cowl & windsheild post. rule of thumb is the width of a paint mixing stick. The next thing to check is the door hinge pins. If these are tight with no wobble, any problems must be corrected first before proceeding to the back of the door. if all this is OK then all you need to do is tweak the back of the door with a block of wood and shove the top gently . check your fit, if bottom is still sticking out repeat with another shove & recheck . be careful not to overbend. I have done many doors this way over the years Model A's to Mustangs. good luck & let us barners know how it came out.
