32 ford roadster original frame

Your 32 VIN should be visible in 3 places stamped into the frame.
All are on the left frame rail on the top flange.
The first should be visible near the mounting hole for the firewall on the inside edge.
Typically they started with a star followed by a prefix.
The prefixes were AB or B or 18.
AB was used for early 4 Cylinder cars
B was used for later 4 cars
18 was used for V8 cars
The next location was directly under the B pillar and then again on the rear kick up.
These numbers consisted of the star then the correct prefix and then the sequential number.
In many cases the two numbers found under the body only had the sequential number
Hope this helps

I'm working on one currently and the serial numbers are very visible in front of the left firewall leg, midway back on the top of the left rail and at the top of the kick up on top of the left rail. I'm putting this under a Brookville roadster body and my fear is the previous frame owner I bought it from who refused to include the numbers matching title he has will show up at some time even though I have a signed bill of sale and try and reclaim the car? Maybe I'm a little paranoid?

You should be paranoid. If his title wasn't registered to any state then the first one to register the number will own the number. These are always tricky situations. A state issued number would be a safer bet but a lot of folks want an original number. I had a friend that purchased a Harley Davidson motorcycle with an original number stamped on the frame and engine. He went to get it registered and found out that the VIN was already in use in Texas so he couldn't get it registered. I told him to either purchase an aftermarket frame and register it with those numbers or get a state number issued but he decided to go outlaw with it. Eventually he got pulled over by the DPS and they confiscated his bike as stolen. They eventually issued a state number to it and sold it at auction with a registerable number. The police do this stuff all the time. They have no problem getting a judge to grant an original number or they issue a new one.

Don’t know your state but might be easy to just haul frame down to who ever does your registrations. I have done many harleys and hot rods tri fives long before the build. The 32 i know of at least 2 that have the same numbers . We are a no title state and can’t get one if you want it after 20 years old. So it happens.
