Hey guys got a question here. I have a 32 Ford Hood am I'm not quite sure if its a truck hood or a car hood, it has 19 Louvers. Is that a hood off a truck? Also I have no idea what one is worth, its in perfect shape just has surface rust, no pits or dents and all the louvers are perfect. I'm goin to soda blast it and sale it, whats a perfect 32 Hood goin for now adays?

All '32 hoods are the same, car or truck, at any point in the model year. There were three versions of the side panels on North American '32s: the very early 20 open louver type, the same 20-louver hood with only 19 open louvers, and the late 25 louver type with 24 open louvers. In Europe there was another version also used with the louvers in a raised panel section similar to a Model A hood side panel.
 
Assuming that all four pieces are in good shape (especially the two top panels at their ends where the hinge moulding slide on) and that the surface rust is just that, I'd say around $300 given that it is the least-rare of the several versions. (I tend to be on the low side when it comes to current prices as I have been in the hobby a long, long time.)
 
25 Louver hoods are selling for $2,000 to $3,000. I don't know why when Rootlieb is selling the side panels for $795. Just bought a pair and there perfect.
 
I understand that they are not an exact reproduction and the difference is readily noticeable.

Rootlieb has reproduced 3 25 louver hoods over the past 20 years or so that I am aware of.

The first on had 25 louvers but the were not laid out correctly,,the first and last were not punched out in keeping with the original hood but the were narrow and all louvers were the same length

The second version had the original look with the wide louvers,,the first two louvers were a bit shorter just like the original 25 version but for some reason all 25 louvers were punched.

The most recent hood is as goods as it can get,the louvers are laid out correctly,the look is great and after seeing one next to my original I can't see much difference. HRP
