32 Ford can't remove key from column drop

I have a few rivets "but" not all the same size. I mainly have some rivets for the 33,34 on off switch tab. Measurement required.

Pulled the lock cylinder last night. Sprayed it with Lock-Ease. Got the key out, but the lock and key are not a great fit. You really have to have the key at just the right angle and sometimes have to wiggle it for it to be removed even with the cylinder out of the column drop

@32Phil is this something we could send to you and have worked on?

A friend of mine bought a 32 sedan as an unfinished project. It has a restored column drop in it that seems to work. The key lock turns freely and the switch moves nicely. The only problem is we can't get the key out with the switch and key in any position.

What should we be looking at? Not sure where to start troubleshooting this issue. The old Ford keys are so small and easy to bend so we have not tried to force anything to get it out.

These are pics from his car. I think this column drop may be out of a pickup.

Nice looking column drop. Even though it's not a 32 part, it still should work OK since the problem seems to be only with the lock cylinder/key function.
