32 Ford Bumpers

Ford1933

As an aside to your post, IF you are looking for/at replacement bumpers, IF you look or feel inside the rolled ends, "most" reproduction bumpers will have a flat washer in the middle of the rolled ends for the center raised rib. IF you see or feel that, its a repro bumper for sure!!!!

Are there any unattached original bumpers still out there? I’d have thought by now that all the good ones would be used. Can’t remember how many years back it’s been since I’ve seen a good one for sale.

As more and more restored cars are being used as a base for hot rods I see a fairly large increase in availability of fenders, bumpers, 21 stud motors etc. Kind of sad for the cars but good if you need parts.

Thanks guys - I don’t have any bumpers I will have to buy repro’s. I hear the United Pacific units are the best albeit the most expensive.

Just purchased a pair of United Pacific deuce bumpers and they are of excellent quality. They are made of a spring steel material not stamped standard steel. Chrome looks good and they even included the top end plugs.

Good to know about the United Pacific '32 bumpers, thanks. Like most of their '32 offerings, a cut above their competitors.

And not that expensive compared to the cost of re-plating an original these days.

David is correct! It cost me around $1100 about 8 years ago to have an original replated. It's because of the ripple design on the 32 bumpers. Ouch!!
