'32 Ford Brake Rods

I need to shorten a set of '33-'34 brake rods to fit my '32. Do I measure from the center of the round eyelet to the opposite end of the rod or do I measure the overall length of the rod? I know what the lengths need to be, but I do not have any old rods to use for reference.
Thanks!

I'd use the eyelet center for your purpose which maximizes the number of remaining threads for adjustment purposes. If the rods that you have are NOS, the threads were rolled, not cut.

Set the brake pedal against the stop on the floor board adjust the rod to the cross shaft /equalizer so the lower clevis eye is just forward of vertical ,attache your rod with adjustable clevis to the front and With the wheel adjuster turned in so there's a little drag on the drum, compare this with the measurement you have ,the thread should be just appearing through the clevas .(this worked for me ) Ted
