32 firewall layout

I have a Brookville roadster with their stock repro firewall. I have looked on line for a layout of original holes. I am only going to drill the holes that I need but I would like to have them in the original location.

Anybody have one of these they can post or send me to the correct site.

I think the Drake catalog has a drawing of a 32 firewall and what grommets go in each hole. No measurements but you can see where they are.

Post your general location and maybe someone will have a firewall you can measure. There are several photos in "The 1932 Ford Book" (earlyfordv8.org). There are probably more holes than you would expect since the same firewall was used for the 4 and the 8 cylinder engines.

In Nor Cal near I-5 25 miles south of Oregon Border. I would love to come look at your 32.

PM me if reasonably close.

I assume the Drake illustration leaves out the holes for the firewall pad attachment bolts, the 4 cylinder snubber and probably a few others.

1932 Model 18 Notes by Dave Cole, in a past V8 Times, Jul-Aug 1972 there is a sketch showing the placement of 21 holes in the dash (firewall). Each hole is numbered and described. Dave Cole is listed in the Index of the V8 Roster. If your don't have this issue of the V8 Times I can copy this article and sent it to you. JimOH

This page has a tiny preview of the Drake chart: https://www.bobdrake.com/ItemForm.aspx?Item=B-700731

It shows what rubber goes into what hole for both B and V8, but assumes the holes exist... so it's not really a precise drilling guide. It does not cover the various attachment holes, and as noted above there are lots, since the walls were drilled for both B and V8, with unneeded holes just shut off by the insulation.
I think you really need to find someone who has an original firewall you can examine.

Here's a starting point. It's the last version of the '32 firewall, but the only difference between it and the run-of-the-mill variety is the lowered location of the hole for the cowl vent drain hose.
