I have an industrial bearing in my 32 column. They are widly available and work great. The main body is 1 3/8" with a lip at 1.5". The hole is 3/4" and are double sealed ball bearings. I have used them for years. Cost is about $3. Just drop them in the end of the column and the lip holds them up. The wheel holds them down.

2.95 at the local hardware store- a 3/4" id wheelbarrow bearing, grind off ridge on the od for a hand press fit, clean junk out of column, old bushing, rust, oil-put some epoxy on od and push it in the column-better than original! Worked for me for about the tenth time last month
