Did '32 3 window coupes have an inside rumble seat release lever? This is marked as such but I didn't think those cars had these. Also, what is a restored '32 Detroit Lubricator carb worth?

Yes sir.......3 windows have an inside rumble release. Several years ago I paid $125 for a NOS 32 Detroit Lubricator........if that helps! Merry Christmas!

Yes they do release inside , I don't know if ours is correct but it is a little like a "T" handle attached to the catch via a rod . So not like yours.

The T handle was used on the window crank but not the lid release. The lid release used a modified door handle. Mine looked more like a 33 handle but the one in the pic looks like a second design 3W handle and is correct.

With respect Andy, but only very late '32 deluxe coupes used the door-like handle that you mention. The rest and the vast majority used the T-shaped handle for both the rear window control and the rumble lid release handle like the one shown in the photo.

Thank you very much. I had no idea the T handle had been used prevously. I only knew about the door handle version. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Here's a close-up of the late rumble control handle. These are rarely encountered for sale, much less so than the similar '33-'34 handle.

DavidG......my 3 window has a 35,xxx vin.......making it a early assembly from St. Louis.......I acquired the car in 1959 as an original with the "later" rumble handle....guess it's hard to spectulate as to how and why things were built the way they were! Regards , and Merry Christmas , Andy R

Andyr,

I'm curious how you know it's from St. Louis? And apart from the engine production date, is the body number correspondingly low? Once vehicle production started up at assembly plants other than Dearborn in May, 1932, the correlation between V-8 engine numbers and vehicle production timing started to deteriorate, but it was still generally pretty good all things considered. Because of the huge numbers of fours built prior to their use in vehicles, that correlation is a mess.

And a Merry Christmas to you and yours.

DavidG..........body number is 7762.......not a very low number.I purchased the car from a man who was from Kansas City.........who told me rightly or wrongly it was assembled in St. Louis. He bought it from the original owner and was the second owner and I am the third. Maybe you could shed some light on it! Have a good evening......better get on the Raindeer watch! Regards , Andyr
