'31 tudor cowl mounting bracket

I have a TCI frame for my '31 tudor and it came with new cowl mounting brackets that have to be installed on the frame. Just using the bracket and mounting block, the first pic shows how the the cowl was mounted to the bracket on the original frame with the front bolt just going through the body and apron. The second pic is how it could also be mounted. Which is correct?

Thanks in advance.

Use the dimensions on the frame schematics that is out there. I am on my home computer and do not have a copy of it here but if you don't find it, e-mail me and I'll send you one when I go to the shop.

Thanks guys, according to the drawing the body will mount as shown in the second pic with the bracket utilizing both holes in the block. Mounting it this way is it mounted to solidly to shim the body mounting at the firewall to align the doors?

Bruce/bjinx, I need to check on those because there are two blueprints out there and one of them has dimensions that are incorrectly printed. Look them over closely and see if it is this one or not.

Mount it to use both holes. That is how it was done until early 1931 when Ford changed the frames for the much heavier slant windshield models. They chose to produce all the frames the same since it wasn't as critical with the lighter weight bodies and the result is what you found on your car.

Thanks Marco, I thought possibly my car had a frame from a different body style because it appears to have been an early rebuild, ( the front crossmembr was bolted in, one running board bracket was bolted on and it was wired with 14 gauge, black white green, electrical wire). Also thank for reminding me about the abarnyard site, forgot all about it.

Have a safe holiday all.

Thanks to Bruce for the drawing that he posted as I'm also interested in these dimensions. My question is are all the 28-31 frames the same dimensions or are they like I think that 28-29 are the same and 30-31 are the same? Can someone set me straight?
Thanks for your time.
