31 Running board bottom color??

What color would the bottom of the 31 running board be?

I have a pair of Rootlieb running boards for my Cabriolet.

Which is more appropriate gloss or semi-gloss black?

I wish I had taken a good overall pic of the bottom of my boards. There is quite a bit of texture and I'd guess it's between eggshell and satin.

I was partially wondering if the surface may not have been related to the process for bonding the rubber top.

Mine is going to be a smooth satin black with the little rubber dimples.
