Does anyone know what the difference in measurements between the Deluxe Top Irons and the Standard Irons are? Mike at Classtique Upholstery tells me they are different size wise. I'm sure someone has answered this before but I'm having trouble finding anything.

My car was originally a Standard that someone lowered the stanchions and replaced the windshield but I don't know if they changed the top irons.

The black irons are standard and the chrome Deluxe.

The wood coming down to the side mounts on a Standard sits in a socket, and is rounded. On a Deluxe the wood bolts to kind of a flat strap than bolts to the side mounts. On the car it is easy to tell.If only one bow is exposed,it is a Deluxe. If it looks like a Y,or a wishbone, with two exposed it is a Standard. On a Standard the lower part is painted,on the Deluxe it is plated.I've seen very few with the original plating still intact unless they were on a well stored car.

Also, the windshield frame is taller on a Standard by an inch or so making the overall top iron assembly slightly taller than a Deluxe.

Hello, top irons are chrome also the windshield on Deluxe, the irons are also flatter and top is lower. The Standard top is black painted irons with black top material, resembles a 1928 29 roadster., windshield is taller and if I remember correctly it’s painted.
