Hi guys

I have a 31 std phaeton which was purchased with top irons from another vehicle. I am battling to find out the correct positions of the iron side support and stud with reference to say the door opening and top sill.

Anyone who could shed some light on this

Thanks Kevin

On our '30 standard Phaeton, I purchased repo top irons from Mac's and I had to do a lot of heating and bending to get them to fit properly. Problems encountered were that above the driver's head there wasn't enough headroom, and when the top was down, the top irons liked to scratch up the paint. It took a couple of days of bending before I was satisfied. To prevent paint damage, I still require two people to fold the top either up or down. The top irons still wants to scratch my paint when folded down. I use a shoe laces as a tie back on either side to prevent any scratching of the paint.

For our 1930 Std Phaeton (May 1930), the measurements are Y= 7", X= 2 3/4"
