31 headlight bar

Does anyone have a good way to remove the head light bar inter bolts with out scratching it or the fender. The last two bars I removed, the inside bolts would not come out easily. I'm sure Henery had an easy method. I'm not smart enough to fiegure it out.

I loosen the fender brackets to ease the removal of the HL bar

Loosen up all 3 of the bottom Fender Brace bolts, and remove the nut and bolt from the top outside of the fenders. This will give you some flexibility or wiggle room to remove the bolts from the Headlight Bar.

The first time I removed my headlight bar one of the 4 bolts was a bit tough. I had to oil the threads and work the nut back and forth several times to get it off. I then had to oil the bolt and tap up lightly with a hammer. When I reinstalled the bolts I gave them a good coat of grease, and they and the headlight bar come apart easy now.

That's why I use the rubber pads, YES, I know they're not "original," I'm not "original" either, I don't have the same hair I was born with & somewhere along the way, I acquired a BIG bump in the middlle of my NOSE! Bill W.
