31 Ford Stalling Issue

Have a 31 Ford Coupe. Can drive it for about 3 miles and it stalls and dies. Let it sit for 10 minutes and it starts right up. Then after a shorter distance than 3 miles, its stalls and dies again. It gets to a point that it will not start until an hour or longer time period.
Other than this issue the car starts and runs great.
Any input would be helpful at this point.
