Does anyone know if ford made solid cast aluminum windshield stanchions for the 31 deluxe roadster(or any open car for that matter)? I hace a deluxe roadster that was never restored but kinda "fixed up" back in the 60's.The stanchions are solid cast aluminum. Are they old repops maybe?
Also, what holds the top of the windshield in place? I can't find any fasteners. Is it just friction fit over the glass with glass setting tape? thanks in advance for any help,Bob

NO, Ford never made solid cast aluminum posts. These were old repos. I remember some of them being made in the early 1960s. All the Deluxe Posts were Stainless Steel.

The windshield glass should be captured within the frame itself. The top of the frame is attached to the lower part with the pivot studs. They go thru the side of the frame and screw into a solid part of the top piece of the frame that extends down into the hollow part of the side of the frame. If you could, post some pictures.
