302 into 55 Merc headers

What headers work best with a 302 into a 1955 Merc? I have a AOD trans if that makes a difference. Thanks, Mike

I used Sanderson hugger headers for my '56 ranch wagon with a 302 & 5 speed tremec transmission.

I would look at a set for fox body Mustang. They exit at the rear like the Merc.

1955 Mercury's don't have the crossmember with holes for the exhaust pipes like Ford's do, so even easier to fit I would imagine.

Another option might be '65 Mustang tri-y headers. I've used them on 302 in Ranger conversions. All I had to do was cut a small pie shape on the passenger collector and move collector outward about 10 degrees. Fit so well that they could be installed from above with engine installed. And they are cheap.
