28-29 taxis were distinct in that they had the coupe cowl but in 30 they used regular 4drs

Did the tires ever have tread back then? Or were they just built bare

The photo might be taken during world war 2 when the tires were very hard to get new.

I think people drove on tires until they went flat. Even when I was in high school, I would always check the used tire rack at the corner Shell “service station” for good used tires. If I was lucky, some rich person would buy a new set and their old set with 1/4 inch of tread would end up on the rack. At least they weren’t re-caps which I also bought sometimes. We did crazy things back then.
