30 lb. oil pump

I would suggest using an 8ba short body M-19 OP with the truck pick tube and screen. Some adjustment of the pu tube/screen is usually required so that it is not too high/low relative to the bottom of oil pan when pan is bolted in place. Don't use an M-15 oil pump unless you are building a racing engine.

Alan I tested a lot of pumps and never saw one that works that wouldn't put out 60 lbs or more the pressure is adjusted at the bypass valve in the front of the valley. If the pressure is low add a shim as directed below. The later pumps have an adjustable bypass and they can open at lower at a lower pressure if the spring is weak DON'T STEATCH THE SPRING add a 3/16" spacer on the spring, a 1/8th brass pipe works good just make sure the ID clears the stem. Also if the spaceing of the gears and bottom cover plate is to much they will pump oil but have very little pressure as soon as back pressure or resistance is put on the pump. G.M.

George, I was thinking of the sender, my bad.

Who but George Mitchell has performed the miriad varieties of tests on various parts of our old Fords?
George, I'll bet you've forgotten half the struff you've ever knew and just can't remember the other half!

Good stuff on the bypass valve. Most guys wouldn't have a clue. Thanks!
