It's a little hard to tell, but from the first picture it looks more like a 1928-29 windshield frame than a 30. The slide brackets on the side and the shape of the lower inside edge at the ends indicate 28-29 I think.

I agree with Randy. Looks like a 28-29 the way the lower outboard edge is shaped where it meets the cowl. A 30-31 has a different shaped cut on that metal edge.

I agree, and the swing arm bracket has more offset on the 1930-1 frame. The first picture shows a 1928-9 frame with little offset for the swing arm bracket.

will it work on a 30 if it is a 28-9?my buddy has a 29 coupe but it has a aftermarket alum frame,he thought this one was a 30-31,maybe a cabrolet??? thanks guys

Someone had installed a 1930 windshield on my 1929 and it doesn't close well because of the bind in the slide arms caused by the difference in the offset. Remember 1930-1 has more offset.

Marco Tahtaras created these excellent pictures which should probably answer your questions...it certainly did for me!
Marco's website is www.abarnyard.com and has a ton of other usefull A info...but these pics weren't in there.

Hopefully he won't run me over for posting his pics, although if I had to choose what car runs me over.......:D.....

I had a 28-29 in my 30 tudor when I got it. It is rusted beyond my repair abilities so I bought a very nice original from Berts and found out the difference then. Berts sold me a 30-31

ok,i chopped a 29-29 windshield and put on a 30-31 hinge, drilled out the hinge brackets to replace with 30-31 and trimmed the bottom corners were it meets the cowl, it seems to fit decent except i screwed it to the header and when it gets a inch or two from closing it stops, you have to push it down the rest of the way,is it supposed to fit that tight or just flop down to meet the a piller?thanks
