29RPU Subframe Assembly Help Please

I have finally gotten my chassis together and running. My next step is to assemble the subframe and cab.

I have original cowl, tank, subrails, doors, and firewall. The new pieces are quarter panels with supports, back of cab, subrails, cross rails, seat floor, and seat frame.

What is the logical order of assembly? If my compressor will handle it I have rivets to assemble the subfloor with. I would imagine some other pieces will need to be welded, screwed, or bolted together.

I have several pictures some with dimensions to work from but any advice and additional pictures would be greatly appreciated.

I have a quart of Nason etching primer that I was going to shoot the bare metal in before assembly.

Kind of like putting a jigsaw puzzle together.

I no longer have my rdstr pu so I can not provide any measurements. However I would use cleco clamps before drilling big holes for rivets. First cleco the rear cross rail to the subrails as an aproximation of being evenn then set the front cross rail on the frame with the wood floorboards to find it aproximate position and center it. After that set the clamped together subrails over the center cross rail and under the subrail extentions. After all of that is square to the cowl cleco it into place and move next to the back panel and center it on the subrails using only clecos. Then put the quarter panels on and measure the door opening. I think you get the picture by now. No rivet or screw sized holes until you are happy with the fit. Just my expeience with fitting replacemt sheetmetal. Rod

I forgot to mention be sure to put the body blocks and body pads in place before putting the subrails down on the frame to try to keep things level and aviod problems when fully assembled later. Rod

I have a 29 rpu cab in prime on a rotisserie that has only had the panel under the seat replaced let me know if I can help Jim 5046288268
