292 valve recommendations

We seem to have a 1960 292 with COAE heads , so they will be the small valves.
The heads are showing some seat recession , so what is the recommended size to go up to increase flow and up the performance. It will be powering a 49ford coupe with a700r4 auto. Also is there a preferred cam for this combo. We will most likely run a 4 barrel carb of some sort.

As to the cam. I've got an older 270 in a 55 bird, and a 280 in a 32 roadster, both from John Mummert. With the 700r4, depending on the car weight, rear end ratio, driving use etc., you have many choices.

Might check Mummert's site, and run a search for "cam" on y-blocksforever.com site. You'll find a whole lot more info.

There's also a lot of y's running upside down, there.

Also see Mummert's site for heads. The 57 - 58 "G" heads and one other had the bigger valves from the factory. You can put the bigger valves in a 56 "C" head.
