starts but when going down the road feels like its missing, lurches and cuts out, fuel line clear rebuilt carb,...any suggestions please

Hi Larry,
A little more info might help with the diagnosis. Engine rebuilt? Compression is good? Any work done on the distributor? Kind of carb?

My first guess would be a problem with the distributor, but I don't have enough information to say that for sure, or even which part of the distributor.

Pull the coil wire and hold it 1/4" from a head nut and with the key on, ****** in neutral, push the starter rod down, and see if you have a hot blue spark.

Also if you have a repro switch make sure you don't have a key fob rocking back and forth and maybe causing the ignition to cut out. That's what happened with my repro switch until I took it apart and improved the contacts.

Sounds intermittent, and it sounds spark related. That could involve any connection in the primary ignition circuit. I'm thinking loose connections, like Tom mentioned above. Or intermittent grounding.

I had a similar situation... turned out to be the spark points arm rubbing on the block. I filed down the block to make a little more clearance. But this could be anywhere. You might consider taking a close look at all the ignition connections. Another possibility could be a loose pigtail under the upper distributor plate. Or the pigtail connector shorting to the case.
