Hello. We finally got the stock seat frame "riser" for our roadster but there are no tell tales what so ever on where it exactly goes. Does it mount to the floor wood, along the sub rails? Can I get a measurement from someone? Thanks in advance.

it rests on the flanges of the sub rails and the cross rails...it does not rest on anything made out of wood. remember there is a curtain pan below it that goes in first.

Yes butt cushion. yeah we're missing a lot down there, the curtain pan and the rear riser contraption thats under the back rest as well. This roadster was drag raced by a previous owner who passed away, had he not, no telling how much more he would have hacked it. The guy we got it from was making a late 50's cruiser out of it, in 1957/58, and thats how we're keeping it, but he never got to the interior. We want to do a traditional interior.

Now today I've had a little more time with it, it does fit more forward than I imagined, but I see what you mean Eric. Now, what was the curtain pans job and do i need it?

Here's a few pictures I took a few years ago when I was piecing one together. The front edge of the seat frame base is attached approximately in the middle of the subframe cross rail - as can be seen by the rust line in picture number 3 (if you can see it past the rest of the junk!!). The main thing I'm guessing you're maybe missing is the brackets that are located at the rear of the door opening - they pretty much determine the location of the seat base.

Here are some pictures I saved from other people when I was doing mine. In the second picture the seat base riser is missing.

what determines the location of the rumble seat/trunk riser? It is sitting on top of the rails and not between them

what determines the position of the trunk/rumble seat riser? does the rear of it touch the triangular plates?

I just lined the holes in the subrails up with the holes in the riser.

I don't think it touches the triangle braces.

Let me see if I have any other pictures.

so the seat riser on a roadster gor a few inches forward of the rear lip of the cross brace? I was under the impression the roadsters when right at the back, and it was closed cars that went forward a couple inchs? Have I been wrong? im in the process of fitting mine right now actually, so I hoep to find out before i go too far!

thanks
