'29 Murray Body Question

Help. I'm realizing I got myself into a big project here. Anyone have photos of how the side sill wood fits under the cowl and at the rear of the body? I currently have my body detached and raised 6 inches above the frame. The new one piece side sill wood form NC seems a little long although the holes line up well with the frame. Previous 2-piece side sill wood rotted and caused the body to sag at the rear by almost 2". I'm guessing previous owners made adjustments/modifications to the doors and cowl to compensate for this sag. My cowl was actually 1" higher than it should have been before I started this project. I have no idea what the relationship between the cowl and sills are supposed to look like - including floor board attachments - which have also been modified. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Can send photos if that would help.

I've attached some photos. Old sill wood with sag, modified cabinet wood under cowl, new right sill with rear pushed up against back of body. Thanks for your analysis. I'm guessing they pulled the cowl in a bit to make everything fit. The doors never lined up.

Yes, I would like to see some photos specifically where you are having issues. Then I can compare them with what I have.
Sorry - new at this. I think I sent the reply with photos to the general thread. Fussed with the sills yesterday. Seems to fit at the rear OK. Having trouble at the cowl. Side sills seem too long. When fitted with the rail bolts the sills stick out 4" under the front portion of the cowl that sits on the rail/splash shield (see last photo). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If I recall correctly, the side rail slips into the pocket that is now right above the tip of the side rail. The front filler block (body block) will be shorter than those used on Ford bodies.

That would make sense but be very tricky for me to accomplish since my body is hanging 4 inches above the rails. Does that mean I need to cut the front filler block since the original and the new one both cover the full length of the "pocket"? Seems like I would need to cut one of them (front filler piece or long sill) and the long sill would be easier for me. Thanks for the reply.
