29 grill shell on a 30/31 radiator

As the title says, I have a 1929 Sport Coupe and got a really good deal on a perfect 30/31 radiator (the original was not salvageable). It appears the 30/31 is narrower than the 28/29. Is there a way to fit the 29 grill shell to the 30/31 radiator? I know the mounting pads are different on the crossmember and the width of the mounting holes are different. Just more curious about the grill shell. If anyone has a really nice 28/29 radiator they would like to trade, I'd be open to that as well. Thanks in advance for any advice.

My God, You live in Long Beach. There are swap meets almost monthly for about 10 months out of the year. You got a good deal on the wrong part if I understand what you are saying. Trade it for the right one. OR Hang it on the wall and move on. Wrong stuff just creates more wrong stuff. Like the hood alignment. Now about radiators, the ones at swap meets usually are ones that did not cool as they should.

@100IH thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I am not made of money, or have a much of it. The guy I got it from sold it to me for a great deal and it is mint. He was putting some big motor in his restored Phaeton and removing all the stock stuff and the radiator was the last thing he had. (I would have kept the phaeton stock). The ones I've seen at the local swaps are either roached, or the guys want it's weight in gold. Seems a little silly for guys at swaps to ask $300-400 for a used radiator with bent fins, dings, the high probability that it leaks/doesn't flow correctly, and most likely will never see the seller again. I would love to trade for a 28/29.

I am going to this swap meet. I go every year and about 4 years ago I bought a 29 and a 31 radiator for 30 bucks each. Still running them today. Just never know what can be found. :)

I might add, Yes,,,,,,,sell or trade that radiator for a 29. Two different animals to try and mate together. Some one out there needs that 30-31 radiator.

I'll take some pictures of it tonight and place an ad. Hopefully I can find someone with a really nice 29 radiator to trade for mine. I'll probably be at that swap with my eyes peeled!

Kevin,
You definitely need to stay with a 28/29 radiator. Like mentioned above, you will just encounter more and more problems if you could somehow make the 29/30-31 shell/radiator fit, which I think is unlikely.
