29 Gas Tank Bracket

Has Any one Ever Ground Off Or Cut Off The Steering Coloum Bracket On a 28 or 29 Model A. And Then Used A 31 Bracket For The Steering Coloum. I Want to Know If i can do this So that when I install The 31 bracket on my 29 phaeton The old bracket is not in the way. If any one has pictures that would be very helpfull. If not then I will Have a new tank Made from scratch. Thanks

Hmm , as explained many times before , you can leave the braket on the after it has been welded. The old bracket is also a very helpfull thing to line up the new bracket. After installing the new made attachtment to he trail you'll find a gap of approx 1/4 " between the steering columm and the old bracket.

Remove the old bracket or leave it on, as you prefer.
