I am restoring the windshield for my 29 closed cab pickup. As with most Model A windshields, the steel retainer strip that secures the windshield gasket on the bottom and sides is not straight. After I straighten it, I'd like to set it at the correct dimension from the inside of the windshield frame. I assume it should be tight enough to hold the gasket in place, but loose enough to let the gasket be pulled through. Does anyone know what the dimension should be from the retainer strip to the windshield frame?
