29 CCPU have safety glass windshield?

Did the 28-29 pickup use safety glass in the windshield? I was told that Model A's all had safety glass in the windshield and plate glass in the doors and back window. Model T's had all plate glass. The 28-29 trucks use the Model T windshield frame and my truck looks like it is plate glass, not safety.

I believe all model A's originally came with safety glass windshields, including pickups. I do believe during the depression, many people replaced broken windshields with plate glass as it was cheaper. I have seen several windshields that had plate glass in them and I am fairly sure they had been replaced at some time in the past. I believe original Ford windshields had a logo etched in the lower corner - the plate glass windshields I have removed didn't have the logo.
Hope this helps,

Yeah, no logo in the windshield on mine. I know my coupe does because it is starting to de-laminate around the edges but this truck has none of that.

Ford had safety glass windshields in all cars starting some time in 28 (?) I think after one of his testers went through a plate glass W/S and was hurt pretty bad. I read this in the DeAngelis book. Regardless, I think you already know, all of it should be safety. Easy check for safety glass, set a pencil or something else small right up to the glass and look for a double reflection. You'll see what I mean when you do it.
