Guys:
I have a complete rebuilt engine on a portable breakin stand that came from Don Massie's estate sale after he passed away a few years ago. I am looking for an engine tuner in Central Ohio who can take it and fine tune it before installing it in the car. I have tried the Scioto Model A Club, but there does not seem to be anyone there. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Ron 614 309 1513 fxproducts@wowway.com

If it is a stock Model A no special "Tuning" is needed, now if it is a engine with the overhead valve conversion that will require more technical expertise. But a stock engine, even one with a high compression head and touring cam will only need the very basics to setup and run correctly and the Tech in your local club can help you .

Guys:
Nothing special about it, I am asking if there is a Model A engine guy near Central, Ohio who can get it running smoothly before we install it in the car, we normally do 60's era GM A body muscle cars and this is not anything like we are used to working with, as stated in original post, I was not able to get anyone from the local club who could help.
Thanks, Ron

your best bet is to tune it in the car.....
not much of a mystery to these other than the timing which has been discussed here many times.. do a search

The real/only advantage I could see to get it running before going in the car would be to verify that the valves are all holding and the bearing clearance and valve lash are all set correctly. Any of the above can be completed when in the car but it is much easier to check these things on an engine stand. We do not know who rebuilt the engine so we can't assume it was a good job. I guess if I was in his shoes, I would want the engine checked.
Good Day!

RonFX is an old friend from another hobby activity so I called him today for a chat.

He's also interested in more modern muscle cars and his concerns seem to involve the problems with start-up cam wear on hi-perf engines with much stronger valve spring pressures. I tried as best I could to alleviate his concerns.

The engine he purchased is on a test stand with oil pressure gauge and other instrumentation and does start and run.
