28 Tudor Paint

Guys:
I am getting close to the point of paint work on the 28 Tudor, I have done a complete restoration, front to back. Virtually everything has been redone, I have tried to stay true to the way it was done originally. My question is, what type of paint was used on the car when it was built. I want to do a period correct type of paint finish, but I do not want it to look over restored and like a show car. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ron

Nitrocellulose and enamel.

But if you are just looking for a "period correct type of paint finish" then a single stage paint like the body shop suppliers sell with be the same.

I would use a good single stage enamel.
23 years ago someone restored my 50 Champion, and unfortunately they used lacquer, which is now full of cracks and chips.

But Tom, why is it that your paint is cracked yet we see Model-As with original factory paint that are not cracked or chipped? Think about how many other cars that have original lacquer paint that are not cracked.

To Ron's question, if you want to remain true the period, then nitrocellulose lacquer is the correct product as mentioned above. It will be WAY more work, -and costs more too, but to an experienced eye, it is definitely the way to go.
