The one next to the sticker is the body stamped in front of the seat, it reads D 002330.
Its not that clear. 29ER said that's where that body was assembled. any info on that would be helpful.

fan shroud, early type starter, off-set starter rod, red steering wheel, no outside door handles, powerhouse genny, early water pump housing, hole in left side frame rail for e brake but e brake is in center, ford script rear bumper clamps ( I have the hubcaps likes yours but not on the car yet)

Regarding the body stamp on the cross member in front of the seat: have a look at Steve Plucker's dissertation on "Letters, Numbers and Codes...":

http://www.plucks329s.org/pdf/studies/LETTERS AND NUMBERS AND CODES.pdf

Scroll down to page 14, "The Assembly Plant Codes". Each assembly plant was assigned a unique code. The only "D" codes Steve cites are "DS" (Dallas, TX), "DR" (Denver, CO) and "DM" (Des Moines, IA). I can't quite make out all the letters and numbers in your photo, but I don't see any of of the above combinations of letters. If read from top to bottom of your photo, it does appear the first symbol may be a "D". If read from bottom to top, the first symbol appears as the letter "O". The only assembly plant beginning with an "O" is Oklahoma City, but Steve's article indicates the "O" is followed immediately with a "C", which doesn't appear to be the case on your car. Maybe you can look at it again. Plucker's article indicates there was a plant in Omaha, NE, but the code for that plant is apparently unknown. Perhaps it was "O"??

The latest info is that early '28 Coupes had body stamps of DO ; BO & CO.
Some of the Model A gurus [ Dave Sturges, Marco Tahtaras?] think the letters may refer not to a Plant but to the type of Coupe the subframe went into ; ie. whether it was a Spec. Cpe, Sport Cpe or Biz. Cpe. Maybe something to do with the different type tops fitted to these various Coupes.?
All very interesting .

The single assembly plant numbers have been a bear to try and figure out. I have an early 1928 Special Coupe with D 000313. There is no difference between the second and third characters and that is why I think they are zeros. The letter D has been seen on 1928 Special Coupes, the letter B on 1928 Sport Coupes and the letter C on 1928 Business Coupes.
I believe all of these bodies came form the Rouge plant and may have been assembled at another plant.
Would you forward the engine and or frame number if different. Also, is there a date stamped into the gas tank on your Special Coupe?
Regards,
Dave

Dave thanks for the info. the engine was made in august of 28 and the date stamped on the gas tank is 7-27-28. The body has never been removed, frame is original. also thank you 29er for answering back
