28 Roadster Door opening measurement

Sometime during the life of my roadster, the sub rails were cut, separating the cowl from the rest of the car and then patched back together...A real hack job...:mad:i mean, they cut straight through the sill plate and everything, only welding back what they could get to without taking the sill plate off... since im restoring the frame, now is the time to get that repaired correctly. Can someone give me a measurement of the distance from the front to the rear of the door opening down close to the subrail?

On my 1928 Roadster pickup the opening recommended by Brookville is 21 9/16".

I increased that to 21 11/16" to get my door to fit. All doors are a little different.

If you size the opening to fit your door be sure the rubber bumpers are in place, also

the repro bumpers are a little to tall so you may have to take some off the top.

21-1/2" at the sill on my '28 roadster. Sorry 'bout the photo orientation, it was taken with the iPad.
