'28 AA wheels?

Hi, I haven't been here on since I finished restoring the '34 BB. I'm trying to get some info on AA wheels. There seems to be quite a few different types and am wondering if they are all Ford. I started a thread @
http://forums.aths.org/InstantForum2010/118347/'28-Ford-AA-wheels where I'm a member and thought the experts were really on this forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When we were kids my brother dragged home a ’28 Ford AA one ton pickup truck to beat around the back forty with the rest of our toys. He remembers it as having solid steel wheels as in the first picture below. We wondered if that was a Ford wheel or some aftermarket or a “willfit” from some other truck. Anybody have any input to this?

Here’s a ’28 one ton with scalloped wheels. My ’28 1.5 ton dump had duals like of this type.

I’ve never seen wood spooked wheels on a Model A like this fire truck has. Do you think they’re Ford?

My dad had a ’28 doodle bug with these 20” Ford steel spooked wheels. Some how he got 9.00 x 20s on them.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Tony

28 - 20" spoke wheels
29 - 20" 6 hole steel (Ford)
30/31 - 20" 5 hole steel (Budd), three changes I think.
Probably someone with greater knowledge can add alot more or correct details to this.

our Pepsi 1928 AA has the original 20 inch steel spoke wheels ... I do believe the wooden spoke wheels were in the other comonwealth countrys -- Australia etc.

both the solid wheels and wooden spoked wheels are standard Model AA truck wheels for Canada
the solid AAC-1015 B2R was used from 10-1-28 through 12-31-28
so Its a rare two month wheel It was made by Budd

the wood Spoked wheel AA1995 R was used from 1-29 through 12-31-29
It was made by Kelsy and used in Canada

so that explains why i can not seem to find the AAC-1015 B2R anywhere . I've searched Budd to no avail . thanks mot, that's a little more info.
and do all those fit a 5x5.5" wheel stud spread , with the exception of the wood spoke of course .
scalloped would be my first choice in wheels .

The wire wheels of a 28 will interchange with the disc wheels of a 29, which explains your 28 stake truck with the 29 style wheels. The 30/31 wheels and hubs will not interchange with the 28/29's.

All I can add to the discussion is the fact that some of the 1928 Wire Wheel hubs came with both left and right hand studs.
