28-9 Woody Cowl Identification

My grandpa got this cowl with the purchase of his 28 phaeton. He wants to sell it but I don't know what the value of such an item is or what exactly it is. My guess is that it is a 28-9 wood body cowl. The piece behind the cowl panels are in good shape as is the band around the top.

Any help with the value of this item or identification of is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Tim

This does not appear to be a 150A cowl assembly. The '28 & '29 150A's used a cowl assembly very similar to the Tudor and had a "stock" pillar post and windshield assembly. There was a differance from the Tudor in the structure over the windshield assembly. Gar Williams

That looks like this one that I snapped a pic of in Hershey.

Someone, I believe Brent Terry, identified it as a cowl for a bus.

The cowl you have was to a 29 postal truck. They were used for other bodies, but the givaway piece would be the horseshoe trim that runs around the cowl, definately mail truck, there is even a piece or two of the original wood body. There will most probably be a second hole that the choke rod went thru at the bottom of the firewall, drilled lower than the original to make way to fit with the govener that was between the carb and the intake.
