I'm replacing the wood around rear window and comparing with the original wood and found one brace or spacer made of hard rubber. I'm guessing there was one in each corner. was this a spacer for the rubber window seal ? There was only one small nail holding this part in place.
My early '30 Coupe has those pieces in all four corners and I believe you are correct in thinking that they provide a backing for the rubber seal. I glued mine in place with T-88 epoxy. Gar Williams
