'28-'29 Roadster Stanchion Screws?

Does anyone know where I can get a set of chrome or stainless screws for '28-'29 Roadster windshield stanchions?

Mac's catalog lists chrome but they sent me Cadmium plated and when I called to question why the were not chrome plated I was told the info in the catalog was a misprint.

I also received the same screws from Bert's even though on the phone I asked for and was told they carried chrome.

Seems all the parts places get theirs from the same supplier and only stock Cad. plated ones, the exact same note included with the screws says the originals were painted body color but I'd rather have shiney ones.

Try the Gardner-Westcott Company (www.gardner-westcott.com). They have a huge selection of chrome and stainless steel nuts, bolts, you name it. I use to extensively use them back in my custom Harley building days.

I got stainless oval head screws from a large nut & bolt supply & polished them. They look great. I have chrome stanchions & w/s frame also.

I have ordered many bunches of stainless steel machine and wood screws from www.boltdepot.com. There is no minimum order and they usually ship the same day. I know they carry 5/16" x 18 ovalhead stainless machine screws as I bought some for my 29 phaeton stanchions.

Thanks for the leads, I think polished stainless would be the way to go, don't have to worry about nicking the chrome if the screwdriver slips.

I have a stainless hardware supplier about 20 mins from home (http://jschmidtstainless.com/) where I buy lots of hardware as well as bar & sheet stock, also no minimum and great prices, unfortunately they don't stock any oval head screws.
