Putting together a brooksville roadster kit.
Does anyone know the thicknesses of the shims which I might start with?
I think the ones under the front wood block is pretty thick

the shims supplied these days in shim kits are 1/8th inch rubber. Personally, I think they are too soft and crush too soon with daily use. I prefer to get 1/8th inch diaphragm stock, and cut my own shims. Diaphragm stock is tougher rubber, and cloth reinforced.

somewhere Marco has observed that the front wood blocks originally were not flat but rather thicker at the back end. the repro blocks are flat for ease of installation, whereas the originals were installed then the sill extensions riveted over them. The net result for me was having to put an extra shim at that point.
