where are the id numbers on the 2bbl carb for 56 272 cid. the only markings I can find are on side of the float chamber: Ford, but no numbers

If this is an auto choke carb its probebly an "ECG" which has the big venturies in the base. There bigger than the ones on a 94. But is a variation of it.Could be aftermarket as a replacement one sold by western auto or sears etc.If it says 94 on the rear of it its most likely the wrong carb for the engine.More will chime in . ken ct. It has Ford stamped on one side and ECG 6, on the other side is 1 1/16. I have three that are identical that I want to use on a edlebrock tri-power manifold. Am I right in thinking that the outer ones will need to be modifed, take the chokes off and disable the idle circuits.
