I am attempting to install a distributor on my 1927 Tudor. I have removed the timing cover bolts and commutator on Cam, cover is loose but the timing cover won't come off. Do I have to remove the crank pulley or what is the bottom pulley? If so how does it come off? Do I have to remove the crank to get pulley loose? The distributor come with a whole new timing cover so need to remove the original one so I can install the new one. Can't figure out how the timing cover comes off? HELP PLEASE_this is my first T I am more familair with the Model A's

Make sure ALL the bolts are out. You actually need to tilt the cover forward at the top to clear the cam stub shaft and thats kinda tight with the crank pulley there. Try swinging the drivers side uo and away from the crank then slide the cover forward. The 26-27 crank pulley is a larger OD and may have to come off.
Pull the twister and the crab off and withdraw it, then remove the cotter pin in the crab pin that holds the pulley onto the crank. Youll notice one pulley hole is larger than the other; drive the pin out the bigger hole. Line it up so the pin is driven straight down through the access hole in the oil pan. Generally, the pulley is a pretty loose fit on the crank. ws

It just dawned on me that the cover wont twist away with the pan attached. Take the pulley off if you have to.
