The horizontal wood is a stiffener for the backrest wood uprights. It should be placed a bit lower than you have it now. The 3 wood uprights are fastened with stove bolts to the thin wood tack strip that goes around the top of the rear tub.

Well it is time to install the upholstery and kick panels. I took car out for its maiden voyage. It was rather fun. Driving this model T is a whole new experience. Got to the end of the driveway and had to call my grandfather to figure out how to get it into low. A bit perplexing. Everyone driving by was beeping their horns. it was cool.

Well the car is registered now and I am driving it farther and farther from home. It is running fine and I took it up town to get an ice cream and gas the other day and it did not over heat and it mad it home fine. I live on a hill and it was a long way up to the general store in low. You really know there is only 20 horse under the hood. someone gave me a storage container and the "T" fits perfectly in there. It will be its new home and there is room for parts as well.
