26 5 window woes!

I worked all weekend trying to bring her back to life from a 7 year slumber.
Checked and adjusted coils, cleaned carb, replaced manifold gaskets, replaced crustuy batery cables, and rinsed out gas tank, changed oil, cleaned plugs, checked compression (50 pounds all), made her run like new.
Toook out for first test drive and had a BLAST!
Not perfect but exciting!
Next day took for another test drive, started off in low all is well and then let up the pedal not moving any faster???Pushed pedal to the floor and slow speed ok!
And then it stoped moving forward and made a noise from under the floorboards/seat?????
The motor still runs but no movement??
Where should I start?
Trans, clutch, rear end, u joint, muffler bearing????
Please advise! New weekend only 3 day away!!
Steve

Check to see what happens with the rear end jacked up with front wheels securely chocked. next see if the keys in the rear wheels are ok.

Sounds like ****** problems. After a seven year slumber, many internal parts can dry up, seize to one another, etc. I have seen the ears come off of the bands, or the springs fail. The T Ford Club has an excellent book on transmission servicing and repair. My 26 coupe had a similar problem, and it was all in the ****** bands. They were worn to begin with, and they dried out and corroded over a three year period.
Just a thought. Good luck

Before you start tearing things apart. Remove the transmission inspection cover, Place the hand lever all the way forward, then have someone hand crank the engine with the key off. Watch the rear trans, drum to see if it revolves. If it does the problem is further back.If not the problem is in the transmission. The way to check for a busted ujoynt is to remove the p;ug on the front of the driveshaft housing and just behind the ball. Clean the grease from this hole and with a light have the engine hand cranked as in the girst test. Tjis checks the ujoynt. If this area rotates then you have something busted in the rear end. These test should be done with the rear wheels on the ground.

Just what I needed!! A problem solver!!
I like the way you think!!
I will be up early on Saturday to find the problems!!
Thank you ever so much!
Steve
