26/27 hood differences

I have two sets of hoods and noticed one has a bead around the edge and the other doesn't. I see Rootlieb sells theirs with a bead. Is the difference from runabout to closed car or . . .?

Yet to see a '26-'27 hood without rolled bead on all outer edges.

The hood is the same for open or closed cars, no difference.

I have never seen a hood without the bead on the front and rear edges. I think they add a little strength to the hood. If you can, post a picture of the one without the bead. Thanks

Well, I'm new to the Ts and got the hood with the runabout project. Then recently picked up a touring front half which also came with a hood (Pepto pink!). Now with them side by side, I see the hood in question is not Model T. Similar in design, but bigger. Any ideas what it could be from? 28/29 A perhaps?

Looks like my 29 Model A hood. If it is 28-1/4" across the bottom edge it could be an "A" hood. My 26/27 hood is 26-1/4" across the bottom, but like others have said, it has rolled edges. Good luck!
