I just want to confirm hinge placement. I have the short set on top and long set down low on the front half of a 26-7 touring car, is that right?
The hinges are all bound up and i cannot get the doors to halfway work right. While working on the body i have the hinges bolts (pins too) loose so's i can get the door gaps right and the panel located that the striker attaches to. The doors are a mess, it occured to me that i may not even have model t doors they might be from a dodge for all i know.
I was discussing the door problem with a friend this evening and he feels the longer hinge goes on top and the shorter on bottom so that a single rod would pass thru both sets. With the short on top and long on bottom the theoretical axis of rotation isn't in a straight line.
Thanks, oj
