Just my opinion but Skips pumps have a real turbine type impeller rather than paddles that are just at an angle . Skips pumps don't create air bubbles like the paddle type pumps do. Yes I Have a set of Skips pumps and I have 170 stats and it NEVER overheats. My pumps have over 30,000 mi on them with no issues.If I need service Skip will be there and in a very timely manner, those off shore pumps will be yours to fix or replace. We need to support our usa small businessman when possible. I'm sure some will disagree with me but this is just my opinoin.

Don, With these off shore replacement pumps I look at it as job security for Skip in the future. Plus their claims of much higher flow is not true. I have seen some on a flow machine and some had internal random cast material inside cutting the flow almost to a trickle. Skip has been doing pumps for 20 years and NEVER charged anyone for repairs if there was a problem. G.M.

I have been using Dennis Carpenter pumps for over a year with no problems. Quality was very good.

And the water pump wars begin (again)! Whatever pump you run not using thermostats is not the best plan, the engine will warm up slower and not run at a high enough temperature. That decreases efficiency and reduces engine life. The higher temperature it runs at the better, short of boiling over.
