221-239-255 Flathead Engine Block Identification Version 2

There really should be a way to 'pin' this type of thread to the top, or at least make it easily accessible and to find. What a wealth of information! A huge thanks to 38 Coupe for putting it together!

I asked Ryan about this a couple of times but got no response so I added it to my signature. Anyone that's curious can get it thee :-)

I’ll ad a big thanks to the two guys who put the time in for this info……I got a bunch of different engines and it really helps to figure out what’s what……….Mark

Thanks to @glennpm and @38 coupe for compiling this great information into one pdf file. I've printed the 75-page file and the results will be installed into a 3-ring binder and placed on the shelf over the computer where I'm sitting typing this.

Finally got all 75 pages hole punched and installed into a new binder. THANKS again glennpm and 38 coupe.

I was fortunate to obtain a NOS ‘41 Merc block. Have him reach out to me and I can provide any pics and details he needs.

Could you post pictures of the top of the bell housing and the exhaust ports. I am in Oregon and trying to find an engine for my 41 Merc convertible.

Gratuitous reply to bring this thread to the top. I just added a "no longer maintained" statement to the original thread and thought I should bring this one up for visibility so the old one doesn't become a walking zombie.
