21 inch wheels

agreed Doug- originals are the way to go.

I have bought used whls for yrs. What I do find though is 5x as many 19s for sale 0ver the 21s.

I guess the 21s rotted out on the edges. Average price Ive paid is 25. each for good wheels.

I was fighting a bumping problem with my wheels, even after having them computer balanced. In a conversation with a good Model A friend, he mentioned that the wheels have to be lug center balanced, not hub center balanced. I found a local shop that could do that and $40 later, problem solved. I was not aware of the difference.

It is the shipping that drives the over-all cost up.)

absolutely true Doug.
I used to bring cars in from the west coast, now only stay on the east side. costs are too high in the last 5 yrs to ship anything....... just isnt worth it. and such, with so many things.

Thanks Al, for noticing that I am STILL alive, when so many of our 'old timers' have moved on to that great 'Junk Yard' in heaven. At 82 years of age, I too am beginnng to lose some of my 'bounce'. Last month, I sprained my wrist, while bunge-jumping in Barneo, Twisted my ankle while playing Soccer, and pinched my thumb while setting 'Chokers' on a logging operation.

The reason for my absence was due to my failings as a Techno Nerd. Somehow my access to the Ford Barn Forum was denied, and I did not have the time or inclination to fight through the 'log in' process to re-establish myself as a 'Citizen in Good Standing'.

But last week, with some time on my hands, I went back to revisit the issue. This time I found it was amazingly easy to get back into this wonderful world of FORD BARN FORUM.

And too, Al, I never read any of your posts . . . . until AFTER I have once again had a chance to drool over your Rose Beige '28 Phaeton. I have difficulty of driving the image of it from my memory. I really like the concept that the FORD BARN editors/creators have done with attaching an image to the members comments.

Hope all is well in both your car hobby and more importantly, your health.
