2014 f-150 wiper controls

Despite the wiper switch being rotated to the fully off position, the wipers continue to cycle at what appears to be the slowest (longest interval between wipes) position. These are not "autowipers". The other functions on the same arm (high/low beam, directionals and washer control) continue to work properly. Is there a possibility that something can be adjusted here or is this more likely to be a mega bucks part swap at the Ford dealer?

I assume the multi-function switch on the column has gone belly up. sounds like the T/S portion is stuck on intermittant.

Rock auto has an aftermarket listing for $24

I bet that is a quality piece ... especially if a fortune cookie is included in the box.

If you can get the MOTORCRAFT PN you can buy cheaply online or you can buy cheaply from one of the online FORD dealers.

You would need a WSM to work around the airbag.

The switch replacement is a 5 minute job on this year F150. You will not be working with the air bag circuit. If you are in doubt, disconnect the battery first, 10 to 15 minutes in advance. As mentioned above, there are several online videos for this job

If it's one thing I never liked about my F150, it's that they put that stupid roto-switch wiper control on the turn signal stick. Those sliding selector switches and roto selector switches are made in china. They are cheap and un-reliable. I'm surprised yours lasted this long.
BTW, all control switches in your home appliances from toaster ovens to table radios are made in china. It is an absolute guarantee that they wont last. I have gotten to the point that I set my radio dial to the station I want and leave the selector on FM all the time. If I ever want to listen to the radio I plug it in and unplug it when I want to turn it off. Problem with that is, I have to have a different radio set to the AM band if I want to listen to oldies.
If my wiper switch ever fails, I'm going to snip the wires off the switch and get an old Allen-Bradley industrial oil-tight 4-position selector switch mounted under the dash and run the wires to it. You would only have "OFF" and three other positions. I would use LOW delay, Medium delay and full speed. Good enough for me.
I prefer the vacuum operated wipers in my '55 Ford. You can slow the speed to whatever you want by turning the wiper knob a little bit. Simple and beautiful.

Check manufacture label on a motorcraft box. Sure, not the good old days. Sad state of affairs for sure..

Before you go through fixing it yourself. I saw a service bulletin that
may cover it under warranty. It looks like a updated part. TSB 15-0061. If not I may be able to get you a part number with some details of the truck, production date, back up camera etc. Hope this helps.

A message to all of you that responded to my inquiry about the multi-function wiper switch on my 2014 F-150. First & foremost, a thank you to all of you for the tech info and advise. With that in mind, I want to share a few things with you:

After watching the video, I did a dry run to make sure I could swap the part out before ordering it. Although there was a bit of a leap of faith when coaxing apart the trim around the base of the controls arm, all went as shown on the video. After re-securing the trim and the boot, I headed for the part store and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the wiper did not come on! Although the parts store could order it in, I held off in view of the problem, at least for now, going away. Pleasantly surprised again on the way home as the wiper remained off!

I had previously talked to the Ford garage about the problem. Just as you folks had indicated, they wanted to hit me up for diagnostics, the part (and freight I presume) plus install labor. Interestingly enough, I asked if there was a TSB. The Ford dealer service rep typed in whatever on his computer and responded there wasn't any! Although I was a late bloomer when it came to computers, when I punched up the TSB on my computer at home that you folks provided (TSB 15-0061), it popped up within about 1/2 a millisecond!!! Interesting!

If the condition happens again, I will go ahead and swap the part out or maybe even ask the Ford dealer service rep if he might want to take a second look at his computer to see if he could find the elusive TSB this time around! As Gomer Pyle used to say "surprise, surprise, surprise"!
