I want to add some oil to the gear box. How full do I fill it? When I took the plug out it was moist but not filled to the plug?

If you can feel it with your finger , thats enough , don,t fill till it runs out , i like it 1/2" down. others may suggest differant , Freezing cold in NZ

If you can see the oil it's enough. When in doubt add more until you know for sure that you are seeing the oil.

After adding the oil work the steering back and forth ( full turns not necessary)then add some more. Repeat until it fills up. Sometimes I do this over a period of days
